On the premises of the School and Kindergarten Complex No. 2 at 2 Jugosłowiańska Street in Łódź, directly adjacent to the historic Nowosolna Market Square, located at the intersection of the geometrically arranged eight streets forming a 'star', a three-storey kindergarten project was developed that meets the latest standards for educational facilities for the youngest.
The interesting 'storied' terrain, creating rising planes with slopes, was an additional challenge. The lowest, first level is on the side of the junction, the next level starts with a 3 m high escarpment in front of the school building. The height differences on the plot amount to 7 m. The building of the projected kindergarten has been founded on the lowest, first level right next to the junction.
Due to the function of the building and the need to accommodate the necessary rooms on the ground floor, the ground floor of the building has been designed with a larger contour than the upper floors of the building. The nursery school programme envisages 12 classes for 300 children.
The design includes an entrance area with common space with sofas, tables and cloakrooms, vertical communication (lift, stairs - 2 staircases) and horizontal communication (safe corridors for small children), classrooms with sanitary facilities and storage for toys and teaching materials, activity rooms, an isolation room for sick children, a service area accessible only from the outside, a staff room, a deputy director's office, a therapist's office, a specialist speech therapist's office, social rooms, kitchen and technical facilities.
